Multiple outlets confirm that Mickey Rourke has been cast in the religious drama titled Man of God.

The feature hails from writer and director Yelena Popovic. The rights for the film are for sale at the Berlin Film Festival.

According to Variety, Man of God centers on St. Nektarios of Aegina (Aris Servetalis) a Greek Orthodox saint who was a priest of the common people during the 19th Century, who was stripped of his church and exiled from Egypt but continued to care for the poor, teach peasant girls to read and write and established a convent in a barren island that still stands as a beacon to pilgrims.
