The seventh season of wildly popular “Game of Thrones” is probably the highest-anticipated TV show ever. Its trailer easily broke the record for the most-watched TV trailer in 24 hours.

However, the season eight won’t be there as soon as we hope. HBO programming president Casey Bloys revealed for EW that it’s not certain that the season 8 will come out in 2018 – we might have to wait until the ’19.

The main reason for the possible delay is finalizing the script. The writers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss don’t have George R.R. Martin’s books to follow anymore, though they are working closely with him. Bloys said:

“They have to write the episodes and figure out the production schedule. We’ll have a better sense of that once they get further into the writing.”
