Michael Jackson is the latest music superstar getting his own biopic, and its cast is shaping up to be pretty epic. Top Gun: Maverick star Miles Teller is circling the role of one of Jackson’s lawyers in Antoine Fuqua’s upcoming musical biopic Michael.
Scripted by three-time Oscar nominee John Logan and directed by Fuqua, this biopic will chronicle the life and four-decade-spanning career of Michael Jackson, one of the most significant and controversial pop stars of the 20s century, who gave us such hit songs as “Beat It”, “Billie Jean”, and “Thriller”.
The singer’s nephew Jaafar Jackson has been cast in the lead role in his acting debut, while Juliano Krue Valdi will play the young Michael. They’ve recently been joined by the Oscar nominee Colman Domingo (Rustin, Euphoria) and Nia Long (NCIS: Los Angeles, The Best Man) in the roles of the Jackson family patriarch Joe and matriarch Katherine.
Miles Teller is yet to officially close the deal to star in this film, but Deadline reports he would play one of Jackson’s attorneys. Whiplash actor will soon voice the animated movie The Ark and the Aardvark, in addition to being attached to Scott Derrickson’s romantic action film The Gorge alongside Anya Taylor-Joy.
