“Mindhunter” Sets Season 2 Premiere Date

Jonathan Groff is set to hunt more minds this August.

Groff, Anna Torv, and Holt McCallany will be back on Netflix August 16 for the premiere of the second season of Mindhunter. The date was revealed by executive producer and series director David Fincher, who let the date slip during a recent podcast appearance.

“Yes, there is now [a date],” Fincher said on KCRW’s The Treatment. “I’m not sure, I guess I’m allowed to say it, but, yeah, it’s gonna be the 16th.”

The series that follows a special team within the FBI, spearheaded by Agent Holden Ford (Groff), that investigates what makes serial killers tick during the ’70s launched in October 2017 and was quickly renewed for a second season.

The second season will be set a couple of years after season one and is expected to focus on the Atlanta child murders.

“Next year we’re looking at the Atlanta child murders, so we’ll have a lot more African-American music which will be nice,” Fincher told Billboard of season 2. “The music will evolve. It’s intended to support what’s happening with the show and for the show to evolve radically between seasons.”
