Fans have been waiting to hear more Legally Blonde 3 news since Reese Witherspoon committed to returning to play Elle Woods and to produce the film through her Hello Sunshine production company along with Marc Platt back in 2018. And it has now been revealed that Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor have signed on to write the script for the film.
The first Legally Blonde film came out in 2001 and it made $141.8 million worldwide. The movie follows sorority girl Elle, who’s trying to win back her ex-boyfriend by getting accepted to Harvard Law School. Luke Wilson, Selma Blair, Matthew Davis, Victor Garber, and Jennifer Coolidge also starred in the film.
Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, the follow-up, was released in 2013, and it grossed $124.9 million at box offices worldwide.
Kaling and Goor are set to partner on Kaling and Priyanka Chopra’s upcoming wedding comedy.
