Season Four of “Mr. Robot” Will Be its Last

Rami Malek has hacked into our hearts with his breakthrough role in Mr. Robot, but he’s ready to take a break. It’s just been announced this hit series will end its run on USA Network after its fourth season.

When he created Mr. Robot, Sam Esmail expected it to be a niche TV series with a small devoted following. It exceeded everyone’s expectations and even received a Golden Globe for the Best Drama Series. USA Network didn’t want to cancel it any time soon, but Esmail felt it’s time to say goodbye. He was building the story toward one conclusion and felt that the conclusion is finally here.

“Everyone on the creative team, including the amazing people at USA and UCP, didn’t want to say goodbye, but we ultimately have too much respect for Elliot’s journey to extend past its inevitable ending. Therefore, season four will serve as the final chapter of the Mr. Robot story,” explained Esmail.

Mr. Robot centers on vigilante hacker Elliot Alderson, who becomes a part of an anarchist organization that’s trying to take down the corrupt corporation he works for. It aired in 2015 and gained a cult following in the years to come. In addition to Rami Malek, this hacker drama also stars Carly Chaikin, Portia Doubleday, and Christian Slater, who received a Golden Globe for his performance.
