Netflix has canceled the Mystery Science Theater 3000

Both the show’s creator Jonah Ray and the streamer giant confirmed that the revival will not be returning for a third season.

Ray tweeted Tuesday, “We don’t know what the future holds for the show,” he wrote adding, “it always seemed to figure out how to survive. From Comedy Central to SyFy. Then kept alive by RIFFTRAX & Cinematic Titanic. Whatever happens, I want everybody to know that getting a chance to be on this show was a dream come true.”

MST3K made its return after creator Joel Hodgson helmed a successful Kickstarter campaign to help land the show at Netflix. The original debuted in 1988 and ran for 10 seasons and 197 episodes before going off the air.
