Natalie Cole‘s son Robert Yancy died on Monday aged 39, as ET confirmed.
Yancy suffered a fatal heart attack. The official cause of his death is listed as natural causes until the autopsy and toxicology test are completed.
Family members say that Yancy never abused drugs, unlike his mother, who fought drug addiction until her death in 2015. Robert’s father, pastor and gospel musician Marvin Yancy, died of a heart attack aged 34.
