Natalie Portman has been tapped to narrate Disneynature’s forthcoming dolphin coming-of-age story.
Disneynature is the studio’s newly branded wildlife-centered platform. Disney+, the direct-to-consumer streaming service, is set to launch November 12.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story centers on Echo, “a young Pacific bottlenose dolphin who can’t quite decide if it’s time to grow up and take on new responsibilities. That is, until he can’t resist the many adventures the ocean has to offer.”
The feature is helmed by Disneynature’s Bears director Keith Scholey.
Disney’s foray into the world of streaming services will feature a family-friendly library of programming. It will include the Disney classics as well as content from Marvel, Walt Disney Studios Animation and National Geographic.
