NBC Orders Five More Episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine

NBC decided to really go all in on their new acquisition from Fox, Brooklyn Nine-Nine. The network announced that it added five more episodes to their original 13 episodes order for comedy’s season six, bringing the total episode count to 18.

This represents excellent news for the fans of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but we doubt it will be enough considering the fact that the previous season had between 22 and 23 episodes each. Who knows, maybe NBC changes their mind once again and order five more. Wouldn’t that be great?

Brooklyn Nine-Nine will return to television with new episodes during the mid-season in the 2018–19 television season.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine premiered at Fox in 2013 and went on to receive critical acclaim for its humor and cast. The show, however, couldn’t keep the audience engaged since the ratings dropping significantly after season two and never recovered. The fifth season dropped to 1.9 million average viewers, which prompted Fox to cancel the series in May.

Shortly after Brooklyn Nine-Nine was canceled, several other networks and streaming platforms expressed interest in reviving the show. It ended up landing on NBC, the network that initially passed on this comedy back in 2013. It is expected that the entire cast returns for season six, including Adam Samberg, Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, Melissa Fumero, Joe Lo Truglio, Stephanie Beatriz, Chelsea Peretti, Dirk Blocker, and Joel McKinnon Miller.
