Netflix Announces Season Four of “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”

The streaming giant has announced that Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is going on to its fourth season.

The news was announced by Netflix on Wednesday. This time the series will be released in two batches. The first half of the season includes six episodes and will premiere on May 30, while the second batch is scheduled to premiere at a later date in 2018.

Created by Tina Fey and Robert Carlock, actress Ellie Kemper stars in the titular role portraying a 29-year-old woman, rescued from a doomsday cult spending 15 years in an underground bunker who relocates to New York to start life over again.

Jane Krakowski who stars as one of Kimmy’s eclectic friends in the city said on Today on Tuesday that the filming schedule is hectic, “We’re going to shoot them and get them out as quickly as possible so we don’t have to make our fans and audiences wait so long.”

Netflix has yet to provide a release date for the second half of Season 4.
