Netflix Cancels “Designated Survivor” After 3 Seasons

Netflix gave us one of its most addictive political thrillers in recent years with Designated Survivor, but all good things must come to an end. The streaming giant canceled this show after a total of three seasons.

Netflix bosses broke the news in an official statement and thanked everyone involved in the creation of this show for making it what it was.

“We are proud to have offered fans a third season of Designated Survivor and will continue to carry all three seasons for years to come. We’re especially thankful to star and executive producer Kiefer Sutherland, who brought passion, dedication and an unforgettable performance as President Kirkman,” reads the statement by Netflix.

Designated Survivor premiered in 2016 at ABC and centered on a low-ranking Cabinet member Thomas Kirkman, who becomes President of the United States after everyone ahead of him in the presidential line of succession dies in a catastrophic attack.

In addition to Sutherland, this political drama also starred Adan Canto, Italia Ricci, Kal Penn, and Maggie Q.
