Netflix Renews “Disenchantment” For Season 2

Several Netflix shows ended up on a chopping block in the last few weeks, but not Disenchantment. The animated series has been officially renewed for the second season.

Disenchantment was created by Matt Groening, the mastermind behind The Simpsons and Futurama. It takes place in the medieval kingdom of Dreamland and follows the adventures of rebellious Princess Bean, who takes control of her own destiny alongside her diminutive companion Elfo, and her personal demon Luci.

Having Disenchantment renewed means the doors of Dreamland will stay open for at least another two years. Netflix ordered 20 new episodes, and they will be steamed in two separate beaches, split across two years. Groening and his team will start plotting new episodes as soon as the second part of the first season comes back in 2019.

“We’re excited to continue this epic journey with Netflix. Stay tuned for more cranked-up suspense, infuriating plot twists, and beloved characters getting knocked off,” said Groening.
