Bradley Cooper’s Leonard Bernstein film will be released by Netflix.

Cooper will direct, star, and produce the film about the marriage between Bernstein and his wife Felicia Montealegre. The untitled film will be based on a script Cooper co-wrote with Josh Singer, the writer of the Oscar-winning Spotlight.

Also set to produce the film are Martin Scorses, Steven Spielberg, and the Joker’s Todd Phillips.

Netflix’s Head of Film, Scott Stuber, said about Cooper directing this film, “His strong passion and clear vision for bringing to life the relationship between the iconic composer Leonard Bernstein and his wife Felicia Montealegre promises to do their lives justice as only this renowned filmmaking team can. We are honored to be working with the Bernsteins to share their family’s story with audiences everywhere.”

The film is a follow-up to Cooper’s Oscar-nominated debut A Star Is Born.

The Bernstein film is expected to start production early next year and prior to its release on the streaming site, there will be a theatrical release.
