Netflix Orders Second Season of “Elite”

Netflix has renewed Elite for a second season. 

The teen thriller will be back for a second season in 2019, which means fans will get to see more of the drama of Las Encinas.

The news was announced Wednesday in Spain. 

Elite is Netflix’s second Spanish original drama. The first eight-episode season followed the intrigue at Las Encinas, an exclusive boarding school, where the kids of wealthy families confront working-class kids admitted to the school.

While details regarding casting and characters are still scarce, it is known that the second season will also consist of eight episodes and will be shot in 4K. “Returning and new characters are to be confirmed,” Netflix said in a statement.

The series stars María Pedraza, Miguel Herrán, Jaime Lorente, Itzan Escamilla, Miguel Bernardeau, Arón Piper, Ester Expósito, Mina El Hammani, Álvaro Rico and Omar Ayuso.

Elite is created and written by Carlos Montero and Darío Madrona and directed by Ramón Salazar and Dani de la Orden. It was released worldwide on October 5 and the upcoming second season so expected to be released in 2019.
