Ricky Gervais returned to our TV screens with his new comedy After Life, and he’s not leaving any time soon. Netflix just renewed this series for another season.
After Life tells the story of a man who ditches his nice guy-persona after his wife’s death, and decides to do and say whatever he wants.
This isn’t Gervais’ first collaboration with Netflix. His comedy special Ricky Gervais: Humanity premiered on this streaming service last year. The Office creator also brought his third feature directorial effort Special Correspondents to Netflix back in 2016.
The famous comedian was head over heels after hearing this streaming giant renewed After Life for another season and says it’s proven to be one of the most exciting creative endeavors of his career.
“I have never had a reaction like this before. It’s been insane. And heartwarming. But now I have to make sure the second season is even better so I’ll probably have to work much harder than usual. Annoying really,” joked Gervais.
