The Knives Out sequel was a long time coming, and Netflix finally gave us some key details about this highly-anticipated movie. Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is coming our way just in time for Christmas and the streaming giant just shared the first look and plot details.

The first image from the film shows Daniel Craig’s Detective Benoit Blanc attending a glamorous dinner party. They’re all sitting at the table while an elaborate glass chandelier hangs above their heads. The film itself is named after the Beatles’ song “Glass Onion” after the director Ryan Johnson searched his music library for songs containing the word “glass”.

Glass Onion will focus on tech billionaire Miles Bron, who invites some of his nearest and dearest for a getaway on his private Greek island, but they quickly realize that all is not perfect in paradise.

The film’s ensemble includes Edward Norton, Janelle Monáe, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Madelyn Cline, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista, and Johnson approached the process of casting them as “throwing a dinner party”.

“At the end of the day, just trying to get the best actors in each part, the actors that are most right for each individual part. So, you also just throw the dice and hold your breath. Luckily, we got a great group that really meshed,” Johnson told Netflix.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery will start streaming on Netflix on December 23, following theatrical release in select theatres.
