Netflix’s “Cannon Busters” Sets Release Date

Following a very long journey, Cannon Busters finally has a release date.

The road to Netflix of the first full anime series adaptation of the comic series the same name began in 2005, the year it was first published. But now the streaming giant has confirmed that its adaptation will drop August 15.

Creator LeSean Thomas confirmed the news via the streaming service’s official Twitter account. The video’s caption reads: “It’s based on a comic book that I drew, so very excited to have the opportunity to adapt it into an animated feature. Cannon Busters drops August 15 on Netflix.”

Per Thomas, it follows “the adventures and exploits of S.A.M, a high-end, royal-class friendship droid who’s joined by a quirky, discarded maintenance robot and a brash, deadly fugitive. Together, the unlikely trio embarks on an unforgettable journey in a fantastic and dangerous world in search of S.A.M’s best friend, the heir to a powerful kingdom under siege.”

The first season of Cannon Busters will consist of 12 episodes.
