Netflix’s “Sabrina the Teenage Witch” reboot casts “Homeland” alum as Aunt Zelda

It looks like casting is almost complete in Netflix’s Sabrina the Teenage Witch reboot.

Joining the Spellmans is Homeland alum Miranda Otto as Aunt Zelda. This casting news comes just a few days after Wonder Woman actress Lucy Davis was cast as Aunt Hilda. Otto will be taking on the role from Beth Broderick on the sitcom that aired from 1996-2003.

With a Brit cast as Sabrina’s cooky aunt and an Aussie cast as her disciplinarian aunt, the teenage witch is all set to face the wicked challenges of life as a half witch and half mortal.

Occupying the titular role is Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka. Unlike the original, the reboot is a dark coming-of-age story with Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature.

Twenty hour-long episodes have been ordered, though no premiere date has been set.
