This time next month, everyone will be raving about the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon. HBO added some more fuel to the fire by dropping a brand-new trailer for the highly-anticipated series, ahead of its big appearance at the Comic-Con in San Diego.

House of the Dragon has been adapted from George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood. It takes place 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the story of House Targaryen, serving as a prequel to the hit HBO series, which ran for eight seasons.

The show is expected to lead to the event known as Dance of the Dragons, the civil war taking place between King Viserys I’s children as they fight for their rightful place on the throne following his death, forcing all of Westeros to pick sides.

The cast of the exciting prequel series includes Paddy Considine (King Viserys Targaryen), Matt Smith (Prince Daemon Targaryen), Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower), Emma D’Arcy (Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen), Steve Toussaint (Lord Corlys Velaryon), Eve Best (Princess Rhaenys Targaryen), and many more.

House of the Dragon will premiere on HBO on August 21 and it will feature a total of ten episodes. Ryan J. Condal and Miguel Sapochnik, who won an Emmy Award for directing the episode “Battle of the Bastards” serve as showrunners.
