Beyoncé’s Nala has spoken!
The newest teaser trailer from Disney features Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as the voice of Nala in The Lion King. The musical icon stars as the adult version of the lioness, while Shahadi Wright Joseph voices the cub version of the character in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the 1994 animated classic.
In the trailer, Nala tells Simba it’s time he takes his place as king. “We need you. Come home,” she says.
The trailer also features the voices of comedic duo Timon and Pumbaa voiced by Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen respectively.
The film also stars Donald Glover, John Oliver, Eric André, and James Earl Jones.
The Lion King, directed by Jon Favreau, hits theaters July 19.
