Let the 2018-2019 season begin!
NBC has given its first series order for a new medical drama titled New Amsterdam.
This is the first to be ordered by the network from its pilot crop. It follows Dr. Max Goodwin, played by Ryan Eggold, in his role as a hospital’s new director. The series is inspired by Bellevue, the oldest public hospital in America. Dr. Goodwin takes on the hospital’s bureaucracy in hopes of breathing new life into his understaffed, underfunded and under-appreciated hospital.
The series also stars Freema Agyeman, Janet Montgomery, Jocko Sims, Anupam Kher and Tyler Labine. The script is penned is David Schulner who will serve as executive producer. Directing the pilot is Kate Dennis.
