Nicki Minaj Pushes Back New Album’s Release Date to August

Nicki Minaj announced on Instagram Live Thursday that her new album, Queen, which was supposed to be released on June 15, is now being postponed and the record will now drop on August 10.

She slipped in the news when she explained why she won’t be appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show due to the flu.

“The album itself I think I want to put out on August 10. I want to put out my second single, which I’m really, really excited about, and I want to now start an official countdown,” the 35-year-old singer said during her Instagram Live. She added that she wants to do things differently this time around.

The rapper followed up with a tweet confirming the release date of her new album, writing, “8|10|18 #Queen.” She also announced her plans to host another social media scholarship give away, like what she did last May when she offered to pay off college expenses for her fans.

The “Bang Bang” singer will also be dropping her album artwork between June 11 and June 15. Her tour is still on schedule and will kick off at the end of September.
