Rick Gomez and Ashley Thomas have been tapped to star in ABC’s revival of NYPD Blue.
ABC’s sequel pilot of the iconic cop drama has added to its cast and precinct — both Gomez and Ashley have been set to star as Detectives in the 15th precinct.
The sequel centers on Theo (Fabien Frankel), the son of Dennis Franz’s Detective Andy Sipowicz who tries to earn his detective shield and work in the 15th Precinct while investigating his father’s murder. Gomez will star in a series regular role as Craig Pettibone. According to TVLine, his character, Craig Pettibone is studying law at night with the goal of passing the bar one day. Thomas will play detective Chris Gamble.
Gomez and Thomas have joined Alona Tal (Supernatural)as Detective Nicole Lazarus as well as Kim Delaney and Bill Brochtrup, who will reprise their original roles as Diane Russell and John Irvin respectively.
Production on NYPD Blue pilot is set to begin next month.
