Baz Luhrmann’s untitled Elvis Presley biopic adds to its cast.
Multiple outlets confirm that the forthcoming feature about the King’s journey from dirt poor to musical icon has tapped The Society actress, Olivia DeJonge, to star as Priscilla.
DeJonge will star opposite Austin Butler, who is set to play Elvis and alongside Tom Hanks as the King’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker.
“Olivia is capable of manifesting the complex depth and presence that has made Priscilla Presley an icon in her own right,” Luhrmann said. “She’s an extremely talented young actor and the perfect counterpoint to Austin’s Elvis.”
Luhrmann co-wrote with Craig Pearce. The film is to shoot early next year in Queensland, Australia and is set to hit theaters October 1, 2021.
