Another Billboard Music Awards ceremony is behind us and it gave top honors to one of the biggest breakout stars of the past year. Olivia Rodrigo topped the list of winners with a total of seven awards, followed by Drake with five.

Rodrigo was named the top new artist and top female artist, but she also managed to collect the awards for the top Hot 100 artist, top streaming songs artist, top radio songs artist, top Billboard 200 Global artist, and top Billboard 200 album with Sour.

She didn’t have such a great showing in the song categories, where she lost most of her nominations for “Good 4 U” to “Stay” by The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber including the top Hot 100 song, top streaming song, and top Billboard Global 200 song.

As for Drake, he managed to beat the likes of Rodrigo, Doja Cat, Taylor Swift, and The Weeknd to win the biggest award of the night—the top artist. He won five trophies this year, bringing his total to 34 awards and cementing his status as the most-awarded artist in BBMA history.

The 2022 Billboard Music Awards were held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on May 15 with Sean “Diddy” Combs serving as a host.
