There’s a lot of buzz surrounding Olivia Rodrigo’s upcoming album Guts, and she found a way to get us even more excited about this record! The Grammy-winning singer unveiled the album’s tracklist featuring 12 songs ahead of its release on September 8.
Rodrigo started teasing the album’s tracklist with a mysterious video, featuring many tiny clues and Easter Eggs. Her fans managed to spot a few possible song titles in this video, such as “Bad Idea Right?” and “The Grudge”, but many others were hiding in plain sight.
Rodrigo didn’t keep us in suspense for too long, and she unveiled the full tracklist just a day later. In addition to the lead single “Vampire”, her new album will also feature such songs as “Ballad of a Homeschooled Girl”, “Love Is Embarrassing”, and “Get Him Back!”.
Guts serves as a follow-up to Rodrigo’s acclaimed debut album Sour and she explained why she opted for this title during an appearance on Apple Music’s New Music Daily.
“I just think it’s an interesting word, and people use it in so many interesting contexts – spill your guts, hate your guts… It means bravery, but it also means listening to your intuition. I just think all of these things were coincidentally things that I’ve been thinking about in this chapter,” she told Zane Lowe.
