Owen Wilson was one of the brightest points of the Disney+ series Loki, and it was just a matter of time before he accepted another major TV role. That moment is finally here, and we’ll soon see Wilson lead Jason Keller’s upcoming Apple TV+ golf comedy series.

This untitled project will be set in the world of professional golf, and it will center on ex-pro golfer Pryce Cahill, whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago.

“After he gets fired from his job at an Indiana sporting goods store and his wife walks out on him, Pryce hedges his bets entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom,” reads the show’s official logline.

Jason Keller wrote this 10-episode series for Apple TV+, and he’s coming on board as one of its executive producers with Wilson, Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, Rodney Ferrell, Guymon Casady, Lee Eisenberg, Natalie Sandy, and Chris Moynihan.

Keller also found perfect partners in crime in Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris (Little Miss Sunshine, Ruby Sparks), who’ll direct this project after making a successful transition to television with Netflix’s Living with Yourself and Hulu’s Fleishman is in Trouble.

Wilson received acclaim for his first major TV role as Mobius M. Mobius in Loki, but films remain his priority. Just last year, we saw him star in Disney’s horror comedy Haunted Mansion and Bob Ross-inspired drama Paint.
