“Party of Five” Reboot Announces its Leads

We live in an era of countless reboots, spin-offs, and prequels, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that one of the most popular family sitcoms from the ‘90s is getting a revival. The Party of Five reboot is coming to Freeform and we finally know the names of the main cast.

13 Reasons Why fans will probably jump on board once this promising reboot premieres, since fan favorite from the Netflix teen drama plays the lead. Brandon Larracuente will take on the role of the oldest son Emilio Buendía. Emily Tosta, Niko Guardado, and Elle Paris Legaspi have been cast in the roles of his younger siblings.

The modernized version of the hit series will center on the Buendía siblings, who are forced to navigate daily life struggles on their own after their parents are suddenly deported back to Mexico. By this plotline alone, it already seems the new Party of Five will be significantly different than the original, which focused on a family of orphans, whose parents died in a tragic car accident.

The new series hails from original Party of Five creators, Chris Keyser and Amy Lippman. Keyser and Lippman will serve as writers and executive producers while Michal Zebede will write and co-executive produce.
