Paul Simon Announces First Hawaii Concerts in Over 50 Years

Paul Simon has just booked his first occasional concert after his retirement last September.

The legendary singer who pledged an “ongoing commitment to perform the occasional concert and to donate those earnings to philanthropic organizations, particularly those dedicated to environmental welfare and to preserving species biodiversity,” is making good on his promise.

Simon announced that is heading to Hawaii where he’ll perform two benefits shows, his first performances on the island since 1968. He last performed in Hawaii with his legendary partner Art Garfunkel when they played at Honolulu’s HIC Arena on August of that year.

The concerts will take place at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on August 13 and 14. Tickets for both performances go on sale this Saturday.
