Many beloved sitcoms have been revived in recent years, and The Office is the next one in line! Peacock ordered Greg Daniels and Michael Koman’s new spin-off set in the same universe, which will center on the team of office workers at a dying daily newspaper.

The new spin-off will focus on a new group of characters, but it will reunite us with the documentary crew from the original series. After immortalizing Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch, they’ll head to the Midwest to chronicle the inner workings of the dying newspaper and the optimistic publisher trying to revive it with a team of volunteer reporters.

This spin-off started taking shape after The Office developer Greg Daniels rounded out the team of writers to work on new ideas. Michael Koman emerged as one of the leading voices in the writers’ room and eventually co-created this series with Daniels. They’ll executive produce it with Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Howard Klein, Ben Silverman, and Banijay Americas.

Even before Peacock officially placed a series order, Domhnall Gleeson (The Patient) and Sabrina Impacciatore (The White Lotus) landed lead roles in this series. The rest of the ensemble cast will be announced before the show kicks off production this July.
