Pedro Pascal Cast as Titular Character in Star Wars Series “The Mandalorian”

Disney is getting ready to further expand Star Wars universe in a series of TV shows they are currently developing. The Mandalorian will be one of them, in it already found its lead in Narcos star Pedro Pascal.

The upcoming space opera takes place after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. It chronicles the odyssey of a lone gunfighter who hails from the planet Mandalore, home of the infamous bounty hunter Boba Fett.

Pedro Pascal got his breakthrough in 2014, with the role of a passionate warrior Oberyn Martell in the HBO smash hit Game of Thrones. It didn’t take him long to land a lead role in another critically acclaimed series – Netflix crime drama Narcos. His recent credits include Kingsman: The Golden Circle, The Equalizer 2 and If Beale Street Could Talk.

The Mandalorian isn’t the only Star Wars spin-off that’s set to premiere on Disney’s new streaming service Disney+. Studio’s CEO Bob Iger recently announced they’re also working on Rogue One prequel series, starring Diego Luna as Cassian Andor.
