There’s a lot of commotion surrounding the third season of Bridgerton and Netflix just added some more fuel to the fire. The first look at the next chapter of this story is here, and it sees Penelope and Colin falling in love after years of friendship.
Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin (Luke Newton) didn’t exactly end the last season on the right note after she overheard rude remarks that he made about her. She decides to let her childhood crush go and look for a husband, but things turned around when Colin insists to aid her in this search.
The upcoming season of Bridgerton is based on the fourth book in Julia Quinn’s series, which is quite a shakeup for this period drama, but Coughlan feels this change makes total sense in the grand scheme of things.
“I feel like if you see Penelope fawning over this boy for another season, you’ll be like, ‘Get it together! Come on, move on and get over it.’ Jess has talked to Luke and I through the season, and I think people are going to be really obsessed. I think book fans are going to be happy,” she told Tudum.
Season 3 of Bridgerton also stars Jonathan Bailey, Ruth Gemmell, Claudia Jessie, Golda Rosheuvel, Luke Thompson, and Simone Ashley, and Netflix is yet to announce its release date.
