Percy Jackson and the Olympians is one of the biggest hits to premiere on Disney+ this winter, and the streaming giant isn’t letting go of it anytime soon. The hit adaptation of Rick Riordan’s fantasy book series has officially been renewed for its second season.

This fantasy series centers on the titular demigod Percy Jackson, embarking on a journey of a lifetime with his best friends Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood. After being accused of stealing Zeus’s thunderbolt, Percy must race to find it and restore order to Olympus.

Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri play main roles in this series, while the supporting cast includes Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jay Duplass, and Lance Reddick.

Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television, said they’re looking forward to joining forces with Rick Riordan, their partners at 20th Television, and the show’s talented cast and crew for another season of this epic story.

“Rich in magic, wonder, adventure, and heart, Percy Jackson and the Olympians captivated the imaginations of viewers of all ages everywhere. We’re thrilled to embark on an exciting new quest and a season two,” said Davis in a statement.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians premiered on Disney+ last December, and the streamer revealed it attracted 26.2 million viewers in three weeks.
