The Crown’s creator Peter Morgan has just inked a major deal with Netflix.
Multiple outlets confirm that Morgan has signed a multi-year overall deal at the streaming giant for both film and television projects.
Sources tell Deadline that Netflix is ready to pay big money to tie-up prominent British writing talent, Golden Globe and BAFTA-winner Morgan obviously included. The outlet further reports that the deal is valued well into the eight figures. “The figure is beyond insane,” said someone with knowledge of the mega overall deal.
The deal with Morgan is the latest in Netflix’s efforts to exclusively bank formidable talent. He joins these producers who’ve inked overall deals with the streamer — Shonda Rhimes, Ryan Murphy, Kenya Barris, Jenji Kohan, and the Obamas, among others.
