Puerto Rico: After pleading guilty to domestic abuse and mistreatment of an animal, Jose Arroyo was sent by a judge to serve seven years in prison. According to BBC reports, on February 4th during a heated domestic dispute, Arroyo punched his girlfriend and later bit the head off her puppy. The puppy died instantly.
According to El Vocero newspaper, frustrated Arroyo had unemployed for a while at the time and was been living with his 38-year-old girlfriend for the six months leading to the incident.
He was reportedly fined $3,000 as well. No motive was given for the attack.
