Queen Elizabeth II has nearly died during one of her morning walks! This story found its way to the public after one of the ex-guardsman told it to The Times.
Her Majesty went for a walk one day and was surprised to find an intruder on the property. It was around 3 a.m. and she was out as she couldn’t sleep. Apparently, she saw a figure in the darkness who shouted: “Who’s that?” She replied and he was surprised and relieved. He said: “Bloody hell, Your Majesty, I nearly shot you!”
The Queen showed her unique character by replying: “That’s quite all right. Next time I’ll ring through beforehand so you don’t have to shoot me.”
