Rami Malek Amazes as Freddie Mercury in “Bohemian Rhapsody” Trailer

Rami Malek and Gwilym Lee in "Bohemian Rhapsody"

The first official trailer for the highly anticipated Queen biopic dropped Tuesday and it’s epic.

Bohemian Rhapsody stars Rami Malek as Queen’s frontman Freddie Mercury and from the looks of it, Malek’s portrayal is absolutely spot on. The sneak peek of the film that chronicles the band’s path to fame showed just how much Malek immersed himself in the role, completely transforming into Mercury, nailing the look as well as the moves.

The project has been long time in the making and Malek wasn’t first pick for the role. It was Sacha Baron Cohen that was originally cast for the leading role, however, exited the production due “creative differences.”

“Basically, they wanted to make a movie about the band and I wanted to make it a little more about Freddie,” Cohen told ET in 2013.

The production suffered another setback when original director Bryan Singer dropped out due to “unexpected unavailability” and replaced by Dexter Fletcher in December 2017.

Bohemian Rhapsody is scheduled to hit theaters October 24 in the UK and November 2 in the US
