Just when we thought the upcoming adaptation of legendary musical Cats couldn’t get any better, masterminds behind this project proved us nothing is impossible. Rebel Wilson is the latest star to join this exciting movie.
Cats is based on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s hit musical of the same name and follows a tribe of cats called the Jellicles. Wilson will play old Gumbie cat Jennyanydots, who spends her days seeking out the warm and sunny spots where she can sit and sleep for hours.
Even before the news of her casting was announced, Cats still had one of the most impressive ensembles in recent memory. Its impressive cast includes Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift, James Corden, Ian McKellen, Judi Dench, and Idris Elba.
Rebel Wilson is no newcomer to the world of movie musicals. She got her big break thanks to playing Fat Amy in the Pitch Perfect franchise. This role opened many doors for the Australian actress, who’s set to appear in three promising projects next year, including Taika Waititi’s war satire Jojo Rabbit.
