Robert De Niro and wife, Grace Hightower have called it quits.
Multiple sources report that the 75-year-old actor and his 62-year-old wife, have decided to go their separate ways after more than 20 years together.
This isn’t De Niro and Hightower’s first separation. In 1999 De Niro filed for divorce but eventually, the couple decided to reignite their marriage rather than sign the divorce papers. In 2004 they renewed their vows at their New York State property in front of family, friends and a crowd of A-listers.
A source close to the couple told PEOPLE that the two have separated. “Sometimes things don’t work out the way you hope or want them to,” the source added. According to Page Six, who was the first to break the news, De Niro has moved out of the family home and is no longer living with his wife and daughter.
The couple met in London in the early ‘90s and after dating for a decade they married. They share two children together: 20-year-old son Elliott and 7-year-old daughter Helen. De Niro has four other children from previous relationships.
