Rosamund Pike Fights “A Private War” in Her New Movie

Rosamund Pike has been suffering from the Oscar curse ever since receiving the nomination for her ground-breaking work in Gone Girl, but it seems she’s finally back on track. The trailer for her new movie A Private War just came out, and it stands as a reminder of her incredible talent.

Pike’s latest project centers on Marie Colvin, one of the most celebrated war correspondents of our time. She spent decades working for the Sunday Times and traveled to the most dangerous places on Earth seeking the truth.

The official synopsis of the film describes her as “utterly fearless and rebellious spirit, driven to the front lines of conflicts across the globe to give voice to the voiceless”. Rosamund Pike believes she’s much more than that.

“There’s a word that people often use with courageous people, that they’re fearless. I think it’s interesting because she had fear and did what she did anyway. It’s feeling your fear and then having the courage to put one foot in front of the other no matter how afraid you are, to carry on doing what you believe in.” explained the former Bond girl.

A Private War will premiere in cinemas across the US on November 16, two weeks after its limited release. Matthew Heineman, who received an Academy Award nomination for his work on a documentary Cartel Land, serves as director. Upcoming war biopic also stars Jamie Dornan, Stanley Tucci and Tom Hollander.
