TMZ reports that Roseanne may be salvaged with a second reboot, but this time centered on Sara Gilbert’s character.
After announcing that Roseanne has been canceled following an offensive tweet written by the show’s creator Roseanne Barr, sources say that the execs at ABC are looking to re-brand the show by focusing on Gilbert’s character, Darlene.
Gilbert took to Twitter to stand against the comment made by her co-star.
She also expressed her sadness to see a much-loved series they worked so hard to bring back, disappear again.
Gilbert who was one of the persons leading the revival has called several cast members to gauge their interest in the event ABC gives the reboot the green light. TMZ reports that John Goodman is “very interested.”
Roseanne’s recent comments about Valerie Jarrett, and so much more, are abhorrent and do not reflect the beliefs of our cast and crew or anyone associated with our show. I am disappointed in her actions to say the least.

This is incredibly sad and difficult for all of us, as we’ve created a show that we believe in, are proud of, and that audiences love— one that is separate and apart from the opinions and words of one cast member.
