RuPaul to Star in New Netflix Comedy Series

RuPaul is set to star in a new Netflix comedy series as a bigger-than-life queen. The streaming giant has ordered a 10-episode first season.

Best known for hosting The RuPaul Show and RuPaul’s Drag Race, RuPaul shot to fame after the release of the dance track “Supermodel (You Better Work).”

RuPaul will now hit the small-screen as Ruby Red in AJ and the Queen, a drag queen down on her luck. Ruby travels across America, club hopping with her sidekick AJ, a scrappy 11-year-old orphan. The two spread their message of love acceptance wherever they go, changing people’s lives for the better.

RuPual will pen the script and will serve as executive producer alongside Michael Patrick King. Producing is King’s MPK Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. King’s credits include 2 Broke Girls and both Sex and the City films.
