“Russian Doll” is Coming Back for Season 2 on Netflix

Netflix gave us one of the most groundbreaking shows of the year with Russian Doll, and there’s more of it coming. The streaming giant has renewed the series for its second season.

Showrunner and star Natasha Lyonne discussed the show alongside Netflix content VP Cindy Holland in a recent interview at Recode’s annual Code Conference, and they confirmed the show’s renewal in a cheeky exchange.

After Holland asked Lyonne if she wants to do season two, the actress replied by saying, “Same show, just weirder? Are you sure? Nadia Vulvokov is a coder, as you know, so I guess it would be somewhat appropriate to maybe have this be the time and place to say yes, very much so, I would love to do that, Cindy.”

Russian Doll follows the adventures of a cynical young woman, who keeps dying and waking up at a party that’s being thrown in her honor on that same evening and tries to find a way out of this strange time loop. Lyonne created this critically acclaimed series alongside Leslye Headland and Amy Poehler.
