Ryan Gosling is in talks to star in Project Hail Mary.
Multiple outlets confirm that MGM is in exclusive negotiations to acquire the new sci-fi novel from The Martian author, Andy Weir. Should the actor board the project, in addition to acting he is set to produce the film.
The story is centered on a solitary astronaut on a space ship who is trying to save Earth. Gosling is set to play the astronaut.
This won’t be the first time Gosling will be heading to space — he played astronaut Neil Armstrong in the Damien Chazelle-directed First Man in 2018.
