If there ever was a star-studded cast this is it!
The American Horror Story creator has announced the cast for his upcoming Nurse Ratched prequel series for Netflix and it is BIG.
Murphy shared the casting news on social media, writing, “On behalf of myself and Ms. Sarah Catharine Paulson, who plays the title role and is also a big fancy producer on it, we are thrilled to announce our amazing cast,” Murphy wrote. “So many of these actors are supremely talented folks who Sarah and I have both longed to work with.”
The forthcoming One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest prequel series will star Paulson as Nurse Ratched. Starring alongside Paulson are on Jon Briones (Sons of Anarchy), Charlie Carver (The Leftovers), Judy Davis (Feud), Harriet Harris, Cynthia Nixon (Sex and the City), Hunter Parrish (Weeds), Amanda Plummer (Pulp Fiction), Corey Stoll (The Strain), Sharon Stone and Finn Wittrock (American Horror Story). Or as Murphy called them collectively, a “true murderers’ row of talent.”
According to Variety, the series has received the green light for a two-season, 18-episode run. It will the origin story of the 1975 film’s primary antagonist, the cruel Nurse Ratched.
