And the nominations just keep coming!
The nominations for the 24th Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced Wednesday morning, and like the Globes noms, there were some snubs and surprises.
Not only were the nominees announced by women, the honors on the evening of the ceremony will also be given out by women. The noms were announced by Olivia Munn and Niecy Nash who shared the stage with three female leaders of the Screen Actors Guild‐American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.
The event’s executive producer, Kathy Connell told the New York Times the idea behind having all female presenters, “Women stepped forward in such a huge way in this last year. I want to salute women who are coming forward to speak at a very difficult time about very difficult subjects at great risk to themselves.”
Orchestrating the evening is host Kristen Bell.
