Sarah Michelle Gellar has just agreed to star in a new series.
The Buffy the Vampire Slayer star has only done two other series — the CW’s Ringer and CBS’ The Crazy Ones with Robin Williams. But now she’s attached to a new project currently in development titled Sometimes I Lie.
The forthcoming limited series is based on the novel of the same name by former BBC journalist Alice Feeney’s. Sometimes I Lie is an international bestseller and was released in March 2017.
Sarah Michelle Gellar has landed the lead, starring as Amber Reynolds, who wakes up in a hospital bed, unable to move. She can hear everything that’s going on, but nobody around her knowns that. If that wasn’t bad enough, Amber doesn’t remember what happened, but she does suspect her husband has something to do with it.
Ellen DeGeneres is developing the series via her A Very Good Production. Oscar-nominated writer Robin Swicord (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) will pen the big-screen adaptation. DeGeneres and Gellar are also set to executive produce. Warner Bros. TV will produce. Currently no network is attached to the series.
