Sarah Silverman’s Musical Will Open Within A Year

Sarah Silverman’s Bedwetter will open within a year. 

Silverman, who took the stage alongside fellow stand-up comedian Mike Birbiglia at a Tribeca Talks Monday, confirmed that she has a musical on the way and that it will premiere this year.

The musical is based on her 2010 memoir The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee will show off-Broadway at The Atlantic Theatre Company in New York City.

“It’s a musical. I’m not in it,” said Silverman who added a short description of its theme: “it’s the year I’m 10 (years old).”

According to Variety, Silverman is working with songwriter Adam Schlesinger on the production. 

“He read the book and he came over and he just said, ‘This is a play! This is a musical!’” Silverman said. “The first chapter is called Cursed From the Start. Cursed From the Start! That’s a line!’”
