Donald Glover is set to make his Saturday Night Live debut on May 5.
The announcement was made by SNL with a title card during the April 14 episode hosted by John Mulaney.
The Atlanta star has landed the gig as host of the skit show as well as its musical guest as he is also a rapper by the name of Childish Gambino.
This duo role doesn’t happen often and Glover joins the few who pulled double duty on the NBC late night comedy series. The short list includes Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Drake, Blake Shelton and Ariana Grande.
Glover worked in the past with the SNL alum, Tina Fey as a writer on her show 30 Rock. His most recent album as Childish Gambino was released in 2016 and earned two Grammy nominations.
You can see Glover next as Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story and as Simba in a new imagining of Disney’s The Lion King.
